The Lord placed home schooling on my heart long before I even thought about getting married! This is record of the Lord's work in our lives and in our home school. Let HIS will be done!

Weekly Report (1/18 - 1/22)

What a week! Praise the Lord!!

Math- We finished Singapore Earlybird Kindergarten on Monday!!!!!!! **Check out my previous post for all the wonderful details...

For the remainder of the week, we worked on the Reader Rabbit math book. I think she is about half way done with it - I let her pick whatever she wants to work on. Squeak does have two sections completed now and has those stickers on her certificate. We will continue this book until either March 1st or when it's complete - then we will start the Horizons/Rod & Staff combo. I'm still waiting for the R&S books to arrive...hoping for them tomorrow!

Bible- I misplaced the devotional book! So we've been talking and praying a lot more rather than any "formal" Bible study. Squeak often talks about the Lord on her own. Once I find the devotional book, we are going to get back to reading it!

Peter Rabbit- We only worked on the lap book once this week. Squeak put in the Beatrix Potters' name in it's spot and we made the Peter Rabbit character puppets. Squeak wants to play with these EVERY DAY...as a matter of fact, she just walked in here with the puppets and asked to play with them!

Phonics/Reading- I ordered BOB books and they came in the mail today. Squeak read some of the books in the first set with very little help. I think she could have gone farther on her own but interest was lost!

Here is a picture of the lap book thus far (Squeak is making a SILLY face for the picture):

  1. At my house that book would show up when I bought another one.

Either that or ask the youngest family member- they always seem to know where things are!

  2. How psyched you must be!!!! That is awesome to finish a book. You feel so proud. We are a week shy of finishing Primary Mathematics 6B. Then, we will be done with the entire Primary Mathematics series. I know the feeling.

  7. Offering up another congratulations on finishing the book. Squeak sure is motivated.
Oh, I agree 100% with Mandy. That happens to me all the time. And, yes, it is usually Miss Amelia who walked off with something.
Can't wait to see how you like the Bob books after you've had them for a while. Those are some I am thinking of using, and were recommended in the book by Barbara Curtis I am rereading, "Mommy, Teach Me to Read."
