We had a nice week. My buddy from college came out on Friday and we had play time with cousins most of the weekend! On Tuesday, we went to Library Story time and someone thought Squeak was a boy!! She was wearing a dark blue sweatshirt and dark blue jeans so I guess she looked like a boy! Poor Little girl!! And we went on a playdate Wednesday.
We didn't do a whole lot in school this week...mainly stuff at night during our nightly school hour. Squeak has been asking for school every night now so I went and bought a few extra things for her to work on to fill that time. I don't want to do math 7 days a week! I ordered some logic books and Explode the Code 2.
Bible - The girls are still enjoying Bible stories and Squeak's prayer life is so precious! I am blessed every single time she prays.
Math - Squeak is still working in Horizons and MEP. She did tell me that she doesn't want to do 1st grade math anymore and wants to do "harder stuff"! This was said earlier this past week! Well, we started double digit addition (no regrouping) and she did well. She also likes measurement, so we skipped to the measurement exercises in Horizons.
Science - All we did this week was learn about whales during our "water life" study. It worked out nice since we were also reading Magic School Bus Chapter book #3 - which is about whales.
Other - We've been reading a lot aloud and I found another chapter book series to try after we read the current Magic School Bus book. It's called "Pony Pals".
Squeak seems to enjoy ETC and we completed 2 pages so far. We are only doing one page at a time. She also worked in her geography workbook and played with her talking globe.
Here she is placing the pre-cut cookies (yes, I cheated and didn't make them from scratch!):
And Packy likes to play Candy Land!
Packy has been counting to 10 since 17 months old and lately she started counting in Spanish - yes, because of Dora. If she doesn't want to participate in school, she usually watches a Dora show.
