Bible - Squeak worked in BJU Bible all week completing the Creation lessons, learning about the Table of Contents and navigating in the Bible and some topical lessons about her Savior.
Math - Squeak is still easily working through math. Even though I regret waiting to start 2a, she is whizzing right along without any problems.
English - I found a new time slot for English - right before breakfast. We used to work English in the nightly rotation but it's nicer to get it done with. The lessons are short and it works out well. Squeak is working through BJU English 1. We are 3 pages shy of completing Unit 1. Squeak is doing well and is excited to start the next Unit (there are lots of cute cartoon animals! LOL).
Science - We started working the the My Pals Are Here (MPH) "Systems" activity book. We completed the book about Marie Curie last week and will begin Elements/Periodic Table when the MPH activity book is complete (it's a short book). Squeak picked this book to work in and it's a perfect fit since elements, atoms, molecules, etc. are systems too!
Crafts - Paper plate projects was the theme for our crafts. The girls even made a special award for Daddy - #1 Dad! (I have no idea why I took so many craft pictures!)
Read Alouds - We completed Ready Freddy! #13 and started #18 and are reading Magic School Bus #20.
Other - There has been no shortage of "on their own" learning...
I also orally worked with Squeak on two pages of Prufrock Press's Primary Logic (for grades 2-4) until she screamed (at the top of her lungs) "MOM! STOP! THIS.IS.BORING!!!!" Oh brother!

Well we can't have boring, can we? LOL
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend.
LOL. Well, she told you. At least the crafts were not boring!
ReplyDeleteI like the look of your science. I'm still trying to decide if we're going to do chemistry next year, and if so, what's we're going to use.
ReplyDeleteThat science book sounds interesting. I am dissappointed that there is no more science in K here - they seem to be stuck forever on one theme.
