The Lord placed home schooling on my heart long before I even thought about getting married! This is record of the Lord's work in our lives and in our home school. Let HIS will be done!

Weekly Report (5/10-5/14)

This is a quickie because I'm not feeling well! We didn't do much school this week anyways!

Bible -  Here are the girls coloring while I read a Bible story from the Rod & Staff books I recently received:

We have a copier now so I can copy the page from the coloring book so Piglet can color too. I also bought another Bible book from the Dollar Tree called "Brave Acts" and it includes Daniel and the lions, David and Goliath and Samson. We've been reading through that too.

Math - Squeak worked in Singapore 1a this week and some sheets I made up myself:

She used math linking cubes like C-rods to see if the parts made the whole. She colored in the correct bars and "x-ed" out the ones that didn't equal the whole.

We are going to use MEP this summer I decided! And I bought an AL Abacus and workbook to go along with it for the summer. And we are going to work on math facts a bit more. Squeak is working on a puzzle right now that practices math facts.

Other - Piglet exploring a new puzzle set I bought her:

Science - We only got to one quick lesson in Sonlight Science about coasts. That's it!

  1. I hope you feel better quickly! Let me know what you think of the AL Abacus program (as Squeak will undoubtedly progress much faster than my little Rockerkid). Did you get the Activities book? I have that and the workbook, but we're not far enough along to need the workbook yet. We'll be using some of our card games on numeration soon, though. R's not what I'd really consider "advanced" in math... just very curious, so I'm really enjoying reading about Squeak's journey.

  2. Are you loving the Sonlight science? It looks fun however looking at the video examples online... the Discover and Do videos look a little boring... does it keep Squeak's interest?

  3. I just got 1B math in the mail. We will be starting 1A tomorrow actually... since we're home (I think for good) The more I look at it.. the more I like it.

  4. Do you remember where you bought the linking cubes? I have a set like that and the kids really like them but I can't remember where I got them and I have looked all over the net. I have regular linking cubes but they are not the ones that link on all sides.
    Blessings,
    Linda<><
